What you will be doing 

Reporting to the FP&A team, you will support the delivery of financial reporting, forecasting and planning activities that help drive business decision-making. You will work with a range of stakeholders across Finance and the wider business to analyse performance, produce management information and contribute to budgeting and forecasting processes.

You will also play a key role in improving the way financial information is reported and analysed, supporting the implementation of new technologies and helping to automate processes to improve efficiency and insight across the Finance function.

  • Support the production of monthly management accounts, including P&L and Balance Sheet reporting.
  • Analyse business performance, identifying key trends, variances and areas requiring further focus.
  • Assist with the preparation of Board and senior management reporting packs.
  • Support the annual budgeting, forecasting and business planning processes.
  • Work with stakeholders across the business to gather assumptions, challenge inputs and improve forecast accuracy.
  • Maintain and develop financial models used to support planning and decision-making.
  • Support the enhancement of reporting capabilities through tools such as Power BI, Vena and Microsoft Fabric.
  • Assist with the automation of reporting processes and the development of more efficient ways of working.
  • Work closely with Financial Control, Treasury, Risk and Commercial teams to provide financial insight and support.
  • Contribute to ad hoc analysis, financial modelling and business projects as required.

What we are looking for

We are looking for an analytically minded individual with a strong interest in Financial Planning & Analysis and a solid foundation in finance or accounting. You will be comfortable working with data, enjoy solving problems and can translate information into meaningful insight.

This role would suit someone at the early stages of their career who has gained some exposure to a professional or corporate environment and is looking to build their technical and commercial finance skills within a structured FP&A team. An interest in technology, data analytics and process improvement would be highly beneficial.

  • Degree qualified, or equivalent, in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics or a related discipline.
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen with a genuine interest in business performance and financial analysis.
  • Working towards, or interested in pursuing, a professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CFA.
  • Strong Excel skills, including the ability to work with large datasets and financial models.
  • An interest in data visualisation, automation and emerging technologies.
  • Exposure to, or a demonstrated interest in, tools such as Power BI, Python, SQL, Microsoft Fabric or similar technologies would be advantageous.
  • Highly analytical, with strong numerical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate work.
  • Able to prioritise workloads and manage competing deadlines effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across different teams.
  • A proactive and self-motivated approach, with a willingness to learn and continuously develop.
