What you will be doing
In this role, you will support the Finance Controller across statutory, regulatory and tax reporting, ensuring all external obligations are delivered accurately and on time. You will take ownership of key reporting processes, maintain the integrity of core systems, and play a central role in audits, tax compliance and technical accounting support. You will also help drive process improvements and support wider finance projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all regulatory reporting and meeting submission deadlines.
- Preparing statutory accounts for the Group and its subsidiaries.
- Managing and maintaining the one‑source statutory reporting system.
- Supporting the external audit process and coordinating required deliverables.
- Assisting in managing external tax advisors and ensuring all tax compliance obligations, including annual tax returns, are met.
- Supporting technical accounting queries and preparing accounting papers and Audit Committee materials.
- Contributing to ad‑hoc finance projects and system implementations.
- Managing two direct reports and supporting effective communication across the finance team.

You will bring a proactive mindset, confidence in handling complex reporting requirements and the ability to deliver high‑quality outputs under pressure.
Skills, knowledge and experience required:
- Strong attention to detail with a hands‑on, proactive working style.
- Highly developed analytical skills, including advanced Excel proficiency.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills, with a forward‑thinking approach and focus on continuous improvement.
- Proven project management capability and ability to coordinate multiple priorities effectively.
- Relevant experience within financial services.
- Interest in technology and using new tools to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.
- Clear and confident communication skills, able to justify technical conclusions.
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Self‑starter with an innovative, results‑driven approach.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) with relevant experience.
